Pizza & Coca Cola tonight!

Dear Hawkeyes Fan,
Were you embarrassed by the invasion of Carver-Hawkeye
Arena by the University of Illinois student section,
The Orange Krush, last Wednesday night?
If you were in the Arena, were you impressed with their
chants and unity?
Do you wish the University of Iowa had something like
that?
If so, what are you doing about it? The Hawks Nest is
working on solutions. Join us!
Come to the *Hawks Nest Insider Meeting* and help us
continue grow so that we can soon have the unity and
prowess that many other student sections in the Big Ten
Conrference [sic] currently have!
There is no reason that we shouldn't have an
intimidating, powerful student section at Carver-
Hawkeyes because, clearly, it can have a game-changing
impact on the outcome of a game. However, in order to
get to that level, it takes planning, initiative,
passion, and most importantly...participation.
Please make it a priority to attend the Insider Meeting
and spread the word as much as possible so that we can
continue to take the necessary steps to get Carver
rocking!
See you tonight!

Friday, I closed on my first house. As you know, it‘s located in Bettendorf, Iowa, and I’ve enjoyed living there so far. Moving my stuff has been a lot of work, and very little of it is actually put away yet, but I am slowly turning the empty house into a home.
Well, I must say I’m disappointed that Indiana beat Iowa last night in Big Ten play. I was really hoping that Indiana would pull a winless conference season this year, but I guess it wasn’t to be. At least they couldn’t have picked a better team in the conference to beat but the hated Hawkeyes. :-p
The Iowa Hawkeyes travelled to Champaign Saturday to challenge the Fighting Illini of Illinois. After building up a lead over the first three quarters, the Illini held off a late Iowa comeback to win 27-24. Most of the McDonald clan were in town for the game. I had some Quad Cities friends in town as well, and Nathan organized a surprise when he showed up with Raff, Adam K., Adam's girlfriend Sara, and Pritch.
