Massive Midwestern Meteor

I’m pretty sure I caught this out of the corner of my eye as Kelby and I were watching TV last night. It was hardly visible through one of my basement windows, through some trees in my neighbor’s backyard. I didn’t mention anything at the time, because I thought I was imagining a UFO or something…

Total Eclipse of the Sun

Boston.com has some spectacular photos from the recent total solar eclipse. It’s too bad I wasn’t still in India to see it—it wasn’t a total eclipse in Pune, but it was apparently pretty close.

We should see a total eclipse in the US in 2017, but it will only be about two minutes long (as opposed to almost six minutes for this one).
